4 Track Road Satara-Kolhapur before Dec 2003 ( 4th July 2001)
133 Kms. NH4 Satara- Kolhapur Highway will be four track road before Dec 2003. The plan is of 720 crores including widening of bridges, new bridges, flyovers at heavy traffic, underground roads. 

Satar-Kolhapur Nh4 is a important national highway in western maharashtra. In social, economical, political & cultural growth of western maharashtra this nh4 had played very important role. But civilization of this area made the traffic slow, that's why this project is started. This will benefit to solve the heavy traffic problem Umbraj, Karad, Pethnaka, MIDC, Sangli, Miraj, Kolhapur, area's.

After completion the maintenance will be in hands of Maharashtra Road Development Board up to the Toll rights period. This work will be done in 5 parts , the preliminary surveys are complited
