HOMOEOPATHY

F Homoeo means ‘similar’ –and Pathos means ‘suffering’. Homoeopathy is a system of applying medicines with similar symptoms.

F Homoeopathy was discovered by a German physician Samuel CF.Hahneman in 1790.

F  Dr. Hahnemon a young German qualified allopathic Physician in 1790, he was translating ‘cullens’Materia Medica from English which was a specific Medicine for malarial fever if a healthy person take it. Therefore Dr. Hahneman, decided to ascertain truth. He took for several days four drachms of cinchona bark juice twice daily. The typical symptoms of intermittent fever appeared in his body. He stated cinchona which is used as a remedy for intermittent fever in healthy people.

F He published ‘Organ Of Rational Art Of Healing’ in 1810, which he established Homoeopathy as a system of treatment.

There are ‘seven’ fundamental principles of Homoeopathy.

1.      Law of similia

Homoeopathy is a system of applying medicines with similar systems.

Similia ,  Similibus , Curenter , that is Like cure like ; is natures Law of Cure.

2.      2 nd Principle:-   Administration of a single and only one remedy at a time.

3.      3 rd Principle :-  Smallest quantity of medicine which can bring curentive effect.

The smallness of the dose doesn’t allow the drug to do any

                                  organic damage.

4.  4 th Principle of Drug proving :-

Drug proving means – administrating the drug on healthy human beings of

different age and both sexes, with the purpose of  observing symptoms or sick               during properties from that drug.

The symptoms produced in them are recorded and formed the Malaria Medica. The mental symptoms, specific sensation and other effects of drugs on the other systems of the body can be recorded.

4.      5thPrinciple of chronic disease:-

The real cause of chronic diseases are ‘miasm’.

Miasm means disease producing power.

There are three miasms namely Psora, Syphillis, Sycosis.

Psora-  (itch)

It comes out on the skin in the form of small vesicular eruption with itching and peculiar odor diseases like Haemorrhag’e, psoriasis, Eczema, piles, any mental depression, mania.

Sycosis

This chronic miasm prduces cauliflower like growth on the skin.

It produces hypertrophy of the tissue or organ such as tumours, warts, corns,

Rheumatic heart and gouty affection of the joints.

Syphillis-

This chronic miasm itself known through the veneral disease (chancre).

It destroys the tissue, organs and bones. It produces bone caries and ulceration.

6.      6th Principle - Drug Dynamisation

This is the process which liberates the inherent power of drugs. The real curative properties remain in dormant or latent state in crude drugs.

The quantity of Medicine is reduced and by the process of succession or trituration on the dynamic curative power is liberated.

All crude animal and vegetable substances have a greater or less amount of medicinal power and are capable of altering mans health.

The two drops of fresh vegetable juice mingled with equal parts of alcohol are diluted with 98 drops of alcohol and potentised by means of two succession.

Whereby the first development of power is formed and this process is repeated through 29 more phials each of which is filled with 99 drops of alcohol and each succeeding.

Phial is to be provided with one drop from preceding phial (which has been

shaken twice) and is in its turn shaken twice and in the same manner at least the

      30th power is formed.

Due to minimum dose the action of medicine is deeper longer and more wide

      spread  .

The potentised medicine acts in a dynamic plane.

7.      7th Principle – Vital Force :-

Our body is governed by a life-force which Dr. Hahneman named as vital force.

Vital force is a spiritual and dynamic power without this sprit like power, the organism is dead.

Now we come to the point

WHAT IS HEALTH?

Balanced condition of the living organism all vital functions are normal is called as Heralth.

WHAT IS DISEASE?

     An abnormal vital process.

A changed condition of life which is inimical to true development of living organism.

     According to Homoeopathy ---

Disease means the derangement of vital force in the living organism.

In disease, the vital force only is primarily, morbidly derrangerd and expresses its suffering by abnormal sensation and functions of the organism.

Homoeopathy treats a person as a whole and not his organs or tissues

EXAMPLE

Allopthic idea is that the liver of this man is enlarged so he is sick or he had swollen knee joint so he is sick,

But Homoeopathy says that the man is sick so his liver is enlarged or the knee is swollen.

- Now cure means the restoration of the previous health of the patient.

             - Removal of symptoms does not mean cure.

               Example-

A patient having eczema and after application of some strong ointment it

disappears from the surface of the skin. It is cure, No!That is not cure.

According to Dr. Hering’s

Cure must take place from ---

    A] Above downwards

B] Within outwards (center to periphery)

C] From more imporgan to less imporgans  and

D] In the reverse order of the appearance of the symptoms.

        Case Taking ---

-Homoeopathy is based on the basis of totality of symptoms.

-Totality of symptoms is simply the complex picture of the disease person.

How to take Case-History---

                  1) Present complains or chief complaints.

                  2) Details of chief complaints.
